I’m so grateful. I’ve said this so many times, but I couldn’t say it enough. I am grateful for everything that has happened in my life and one of it being my job. I often tweeted out reasons why I love my job and now that I’m away to Indonesia for two months, I felt how blessed I am with the flexibility of the position and how much I have learnt from it.
In the last month, I have met so many great people that I would have not met. I have befriended them and learned lots. The HootUps I’ve held have gone so great and so well attended every time. Soem are great with the numbers, some are smaller but intimate. I always walk in to a HootUp not knowing what to expect because I usually am not familiar with the space and never met the organizers. It’s a great new feeling that I just discovered. Prior to this, I’m always afraid of public speaking, both in English and in Bahasa Indonesia. It’s just not my forte. But earlier this year, I told myself that it is one thing that I want to improve on and with every HootUp, I feel more and more comfortable and confident. I do mind exercises before I go on each one and make sure I rest enough after it and introspect myself before the next one comes around.
I feel empowered knowing I have a voice and something to share. This has been an incredible journey and I have a new set of strategies and goals for myself, so wish me luck!
