Any GPS Techies?

Most of you have probably heard of my project Point Locus. Yes, the tactile GPS system for the visually impaired. We are currently looking to find a way to use geolocation data from a smartphone GPS app, and send that information to a microcontroller (Arduino, for example), in order to control a circuit in response to the GPS data.

If you know anyone have any suggestions on what it may take (programs, tutorials, etc) to gain access to GPS output data and send that data to an external device? Please keep in mind that I am limited in my technical expertise. 😉

If you’d like more details on our project, Point Locus, you can find that here:

Thank you in advance!
