In preparation for two interviews I have coming up this week, I decided to make a mind map of how the value and the job description from the first company fit with my skills and experiences. I must say the process was quite interesting; this was my first time preparing an interview this way. I didn’t learn/adopt this technique from anywhere in particular. I just reflected on what method usually works best for me when I study and apply it. This personal mind map has certainly forced me to think in terms of categories and to review my portfolio and resume a couple of times to make sure I’ve got everything. It works better than just typing the possible answers down, because I usually ended up reading the answers if they were all typed up. I also listed down buzz words (again, taken from the job description) that I will be using to make my sentences stronger, more impactful, and relevant to them. Wish me luck!
